Pentesting

Taken literally, pentesting means ‘penetration testing’. Pentesting involves trying to penetrate systems in order to take measures to increase security so that intrusion becomes very difficult. Grey Clerk works with ethical hackers for this purpose. A pentest can prevent sensitive information from being out in the open and your company from suffering considerable reputational damage.

When do you chose a pentest?

There are many reasons to opt for a pentest. Consider, for example, transitioning to a new platform, offering a new service, retaining certain customers or avoiding a fine or reputational damage. Whatever your reason, if you opt for a pentest, Grey Clerk will help you find weaknesses in your cybersecurity. Together, we prevent unwanted guests from penetrating your systems.

The steps of a pentest

At Grey Clerk, we think it is important to get to know you and your organization. That is why we always start with an intensive introduction. In this, we get to know each other and the organization and explore your actual needs.

Once we have determined that a pentest is indeed the right option for your organization, we unleash kind hackers on your systems. They try to penetrate and gather as much information as possible. They are looking for all types of information that you hope will never end up out in the open, such as customer data or information valuable to your competition.

After this test, Grey Clerk evaluates with the hackers and with you how far the hackers have penetrated and where the areas for improvement are. This results in valuable advice for the organization. If required, Grey Clerk also helps you implement the findings. In the long term, we continue to communicate with each other to ensure that you do not suffer reputational damage. Depending on your organization, it may be desirable to repeat the pentest several years later.
